Summary

Due to NDA, I am not able to share specific details about this project since the product is no longer public.

Over the span of two months at April Labs, my fellow lead UX designer and I were tasked with designing a compatible desktop website version of our mobile app. We started with competitive analysis and iterated on different sketches and ended with high-fidelity mockups and prototypes. We worked closely with our product manager, the engineering team and the marketing team to ensure that our key business and product features were being translated effectively into a desktop form. While collaborating with our team, we received a new product feature request specifically for our desktop site from the marketing team and our stakeholders. We started wireframing solutions and landed on a final high-fidelity mockup to integrate into our website.

What did I learn?

Throughout this design, I learned the importance of a consistent design system. As we were translating our mobile features into our desktop site, we had to establish a method of effectively converting our components while being conscientious of size and ratio differences. In addition, I learned how to design for a responsive web system by setting breakpoints in screens and using flexible grid systems.
